Form must be filled out completely and have postmark of no later than September 5, 2009 for $100 payment. Late fee of $150 will be accepted until postmark date of September 20th, 2009. Please send a copy of the stallion’s papers along with the nomination form.

1.  Stallion must be registered with AQHA, APHA, ApHC, or Jockey Club and nominated by the deadline (September 5, 2009 or late with penalty by September 20th , 2009) for foals to be eligible.

 

2.  The Stallion Nomination fee may be paid by the owner/lessee or by a person other than owner or lessee. If someone other than the owner/lessee wants to nominate a stallion, permission must be asked of the owner/lessee in writing. If there is no written response from the owner/lessee after 10 days the other party will be allowed to pay the stallion nomination fee.

 

3.  All foals that are registered AQHA, APHA, and ApHC will be eligible to be shown in the futurity. Weanlings that do not have registration papers at the time of the futurity must have a work order number with a copy of registration application to show foal eligibility in order for show secretary to enter weanlings.

 

4.  All breeds (AQHA, APHA, ApHC) will be shown together in each class. Classes included - Weanling Stallions/Geldings Halter, Weanling Mares Halter, Yearling Stallions Halter, Yearling Geldings Halter, Yearling Mares Halter, Yearling Longe Line, Yearling In-Hand Trail, Two Year Old English Pleasure, Two Year Old Western Pleasure, Three Year Old English Pleasure, Three Year Old Western Pleasure, and Three Year Old Trail.

 

5. Colored and solid stock shall be shown together.

 

6.  It is the responsibility of exhibitors to enter their horses in the appropriate classes. If the exhibitor is unsure if their horse is eligible, ask the futurity secretary.

 

7.  Judging will be by an approved breed judge to be named later. An approved judge should hold a card in at least one of the following breed associations, AQHA, APHA, ApHC, NSBA, IBHA, or ABRA.

 

8.  There will be NO refunds of any fees paid to the Montana Gold Futurity with the exception of a medical release for handlers or veterinary release for futurity entries. Medical/veterinary  refunds will be sent within 2 weeks of the futurity.

 

9.  Insufficient checks will result in automatic disqualification. This rule will be strictly enforced. All business with the Montana Gold Futurity from that point on will be a cash only basis.

 

10.  It will be mandatory for each person entering the futurity to complete a W-9 form. Any person with winnings above and beyond $600.00 will be issued a 1099 with winnings stated at the end of the year.

 

11.  Weanling Stallions and Geldings will be shown together in halter.

 

12.  Payouts will be dependant upon the number of stallion nominations, sponsorships, added monies, and the number of entries per class.

 

13.  Payout purse to be divided equally by the number of futurity entries.

 

14.  Stallion nomination fee will be split 75%-25% to payout purse and administrative costs respectively.

 

15.  All Futurity entries are due September 15th  20098 or with a late fee until September 25, 2009.

 

16.  Entry fees per class per horse are $40 or late for $50.

 

17.  There is a one-time yearly $10 office fee per horse.

 

18.  Prize monies will be paid to the current owner or the person paying the sustaining entry fees of each entry.

 

19.  Horses will be placed from first to seventh place.

 

20.  By entering this futurity, owners and handlers acknowledge the right and give permission to the managers of the futurity to do drug testing on any or all entries randomly or in any manner decided upon by the management and to take appropriate action. (APHA rule book guidelines will be used).

 

21.  Paybacks for the Montana Gold Futurity will be as follows:

22.  By entering the Montana Gold Futurity, owners and handlers acknowledge the right of the managers of the futurity to recognize animal abuse and/or mistreatment and to take appropriate action.

    A.  Head tie downs of any kind are not allowed on yearling longe line participants on the grounds.

 

    B.  Lip chains are not allowed on any weanling halter entry.

 

23.  Any complaints must be presented to the MGF management in writing along with a deposit of $100. If the complaint is found valid the money will be returned otherwise the complaint fee will be donated to the payout purse the following year. All decisions made by the management are final. Verbal abuse and un-sportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated, and exhibitors and /or owners may be disqualified and monies and awards forfeited. Any incidents not covered by the rules will follow the current APHA rulebook.

 

24.  The MGF will not be responsible for any loss, damage, or injury to horses, equipment or participants.

 

25. Anyone with an eligible horse may show at the futurity as long as they follow the set rules.

 

26.  A high point performance and halter stallion will be given a high point sheet award to commemorate their offsprings' achievements. The high points will be determined by the highest total payouts from the futurity. Halter will be combined halter winnings and Performance will be combined pleasure, trail, and longe line winnings.

 

27.  An exhibitor may show a maximum of 2 horses in Three Year Old Trail and Yearling In-Hand Trail.

 

28.  Any photos taken during the futurity by the MGF management may be used for future advertising.

 

29.  All decisions made by the MGF management regarding anyone or any part of the futurities will be final.
